Looking your best

We're told time and time again "Don't judge a book by it's cover" but than we're told "A first impression is everything" What are we to do? Well for most of us we can't help but judge a book by it's cover and in a working professionals life it's important not only to feel great but to also look great. Looking good doesn't have to be a chore or take 4 hours either you just need to look polished and well put together. Here are a few hints and tricks.

                                                                      SLEEP WELL

Getting a goods night rest because black circles under the eyes do not look good unless you're a Dalmatian and in this case you probably wouldn't be reading this is. Start by enjoying a hot shower or bath, than continue with your routine. OK, STOP! Do not turn on that t.v. Cases have shown that t.vs can have actually over simulate your brain and if you happen to fall asleep with it on you're often not really sleeping like you should be. While, you're asleep your brain is not. Now, go make yourself a nice warm cup of tea and read a book or play a game or maybe even color. I suggest the "Get some ZZZ's" tea from Republic of the Tea. This is a great blend of mint, passionflower and citrus. We retail this for $11 and you get 36 bags. That's only 31cents a bag and for getting 8 hours of sleep that's well worth it. You can make this tea hot or cold but I highly suggest hot and with just a pinch of sugar. This tea is decaf therefore it's not only to pump you up. Now, enjoy!

                GOOD PANTS

Think about it like this. Our legs are our stilts and what lift us up (literally) if they don't look presentable why should we bother with the rest? My newest obsession is the Bleecker pants by New York & Co. These are fitted at the waist, the tops of legs, and give you just enough flare at the bottom to be great for dressier or casual occasions. These also have a hidden hem so you have have stitching along the bottom.

                       GREAT BAG

As women we are used to juggling multiple task at once weather it's cleaning, holding a baby, cooking dinner, working, taking the dogs on a walk, packing lunches, trying to shop or actually relaxing. We're programmed to do more than one thing and when we're not doing more than one thing we're thinking about other things. Thus, leading us to typically carrying a larger bag than needed which, can believe it or not lead to back problems down the road. The key is to remember simple is key and not to over pack. If you're going to lunch with a girlfriend do you really need your agenda, your Ipad, your 6 lip glosses, sunglasses, pills, lotions, book you've been working on, extra diapers, oh look my sons sock. Chances are probably not! Now, think about items you MUST have with you at all times and try to find a piece that suits that. If you're going on a trip you can always use that larger bag late but for everyday use this is not necessary.

My pick is actually not a purse at all but an eTablet Sleeve  that makes a fantastic clutch. The best part is it's water resistant and made in the USA. This pattern is called Ravinia and the pop of orange brings out my shirt and the black looks great with denim.
